Nova Diabetes Care Announces New Diabetes Educational Video Library
Waltham, MA (September 28, 2012) - Nova Diabetes Care, manufacturer of the Nova Max® Plus™ Glucose/Ketone monitor, has created a new, on-line educational video library for people with diabetes. The video library provides important information about diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and self-testing for blood ketone. Self-testing for blood ketone can help prevent DKA, a serious and potentially fatal acute complication of diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association and other international diabetes associations, self-testing for blood ketone on sick days and whenever glucose is elevated can provide an early warning to initiate home therapy to prevent DKA.
The video library provides instruction concerning when to perform blood ketone testing; proper technique for accurate glucose and ketone testing with Nova Max Plus; understanding blood ketone results and actions to take when blood ketone levels are elevated. The videos can be viewed here.
